"Underwater remote sensing systems simulation for synthetic dataset generation"
held by dr. sc. Antonio Lagudi, Department of Mechanical, Energetics and Management Engineering (DIMEG), University of Calabria (UNICAL), Arcavacata di Rende, Italy. The lecture will take place on Tuesday June 27th, 2023 at 11:00 in the Grey Hall at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing (FER). The lecture is in English and is open to all interested participants.

Abstract:
The talk will present a recent development of a simulation framework in which a Multi-Beam Echosounder (MBES) is simulated in order to generate synthetic datasets that are used for training Deep Learning models addressed to recognize objects and natural phenomena like gas emissions.
Brief bio:
Antonio Lagudi is a Research Associate at the University of Calabria. He received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Calabria in 2015 and he graduated in Electronic Engineering at the University of Perugia. Winner in 2015 of the "Ph.D. I-Talents" project, he has experience in the design and development of Computer vision solutions for industrial applications. He has been and is currently involved in several EU co-funded projects and he is co-author of more than 40 scientific papers and publications.
