Pursue common interests. The Life Members Committee has created the opportunity for members from all over the world to link with other members with similar interests.

Life Members Special Interest Groups

The Life Members Special Interest groups can be technical or non-technical. Several IEEE Technical Societies, including the Power and Energy, Communications, and Computer have formed Life Member committees within their society. Members from those Societies have become members of conference committees, speakers at section and student branch events, key knowledge resources for the society, and so much more.

Life Members can also become active with other non-technical Special interests that address:

  • Issues related to aging
  • The environment and sustainability
  • STEM
  • Legislation and public policy
  • Financial planning
  • Leadership development
  • Mentoring
  • Humanitarian Activities (SIGHT and HAC)
  • Women in Engineering (WIE)
  • Young Professionals
