Team LMAG Delhi with NTPC Executives

IEEE Delhi Section LMAG members, led by Dr. H L Bajaj, Chairman, visited the National Thermal Power Dadri power plant on 15 May 2024.

They were warmly received by the esteemed Shri. Gampa Brahmaji Rao, Executive Director (Dadri), and Sri U V M Rao, General Manager (O & M), both of whom are renowned for their expertise in the field. The Head of Departments of various departments also graced the occasion.

A Full Day of Learning

An insightful meeting was held with Sri Gampa Ji, Sri Rao, and the HoDs, during which they shared their in-depth knowledge about the NTPC Dadri complex. A captivating short film on NTPC Dadri was also screened. The team then had the privilege of an informal interaction with senior officials of different departments. After a refreshing welcome Tea, the LMAG team was taken on a comprehensive tour of the NTPC complex, where the pristine environment left a lasting impression.

The Delhi LMAG team was given a comprehensive tour of the complex, where they were introduced to the cutting-edge Real Simulation Model for the NTPC complex. This model, a testament to the advanced technology at NTPC, vividly demonstrated the operations of different units. The team was then escorted to the real-time monitoring and control room, a hub of activity where the supply and demand were visible in real-time. It was fascinating to learn that from this control room, all parameters could be monitored, and real-time data was readily available on display, showcasing the NTPC’s commitment to transparency and efficiency.

The LMAG team was taken to an area with a manufactured mount supporting a golf course. This complex was full of trees, which provided a cool atmosphere in hot weather. We were also requested to plant two trees in this complex.

IEEE Delhi Section LMAG would like to thank NTPC ED Sri Gampa Brahmaji, who welcomed and hosted lunch for the visiting team. We would also like to thank Mr. Sumit and Mr. Manish from NTPC Dadri, who facilitated the visit to NTPC. The LMAG team returned to Delhi in the evening after a delicious lunch in the NTPC Guest house.
