Despite pandemic interruptions, the Lebanon Life Member Affinity Group has completed an IEEE Foundation grant-funded initiative, SougeTaga (Energy Market Info).

SouqeTaga logo The initiative’s goal was to provide a platform for Solar Energy information and hold high school activities to encourage students, especially girls, to pursue university education related to STEM fields. Starting in 2019, Lebanon has faced social unrest, economic collapse, and closure of schools and universities for extended periods due to Covid. The LMAG focused its efforts on creating Social Media outlets to educate the public on solar energy issues.

SougeTaga participantsThe SougeTaga Facebook page went live in February 2022, and they have a presence on Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter. They have 480 followers; the last two posts have over 10,000 engagements, 1600 likes, and 30 shares. IEEE LMAG members in Lebanon were instrumental in establishing this initiative on solid grounds.
