Meet Rajendra K. Asthana – Life Members Committee Member, Awards & Recognition
IEEE Senior Life Member Rajendra K. Asthana has been an IEEE volunteer for over 36 years.
He has been serving IEEE Delhi Section since 1987 as Treasurer, Vice Chair, Chair, Past Chair, ex-com member, History Committee, and Power Engineering Society. Currently, Asthana is Member Life Member Committee for 2023 and has been Chair of Region 10 Life Member Committee since 2020. He has been the Ombudsman of IEEE India Council since 2019 and Advisor to LMAG, Delhi, since 2021. As Chair of the Delhi Section, Asthana was involved in deciding the IEEE Millennium Awards in 1999.
Asthana worked at Crompton Greaves Limited, Nagpur, and Bombay for over 5 years, Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. (manufacturers of Thermal, Hydra & Gas Power Plants) for 32 years & Associate Professor for 2 years at PDM College of Engineering. He graduated in Electrical Engineering from IIT, BHU in 1969, 1975 Gold Medallist in Diploma in Management, and 1993 MBA from IGNOU, Delhi.

- The first recipient of the India Council Lifetime Achievement Award for Council Chairs – 2019
