The lecture aims to bring the basic concepts of robot vision closer to the listeners. The topics covered are the conversion of physical phenomena (electromagnetic radiation) into electronic signals that describe psychophysical phenomena (light, colors, hues, saturation…), preservation and transmission of visual data for a certain scene as images or videos, operations for basic image and video processing, as well as fundamental principles of object detection and recognition in images and videos.
