IEEE CTS CTCN and LM Oct 20, 2022 meeting: Extreme Value Analysis

Loading Events

Extreme Value Analysis (EVA) is a statistical methodology for making inferences about rare events, typically ones that can result in severe consequences, such as extreme weather, financial risks, material/equipment failures, epidemics, solar cycles, insurance losses, and much more. This talk will provide an introduction to EVA, including the theoretical basis for it, a demonstration of EVA computations using Python and R, and specific examples of its use in practice.
