The EPFL IEEE Student Branch and the IEEE Life Member Activity Group kindly invites you to participate to the February Stammtisch. We are very pleased to have Prof. Andras Kis who recently got promoted to the grade of Fellow, as the speaker. The following is a brief abstract of the event.
The discovery of graphene marked the start of research in 2D electronic materials which was expanded in new directions with MoS2 and other layered semiconducting materials. They have a wide range of interesting fundamental properties and potential applications enabled by their exceptional electrical and mechanical properties. The talk will show some of the most important results from Prof. Andras Kis's group, starting from a breakthrough which was the realization of the first transistor based on a 2D semiconductor to more recent examples which include logic-in-memory devices and circuits based on floating-gate field-effect transistors (FGFET) which can be used in reconfigurable logic circuits as well as artificial neural networks.
You don't need to be a member of IEEE to attend the event, it is open to all.
