AI-powered technologies and solutions are increasingly transforming the energy landscape for researchers, industries, and consumers alike. In the pursuit of affordable, reliable, and sustainable electricity, AI presents both exciting opportunities and critical barriers across the generation, consumption, storage, and transaction, leading towards a decentralized energy autonomy tailored to diverse local contexts and priorities. The talk will look at these solutions and challenges through the lens of Agentic AI, a novel perspective inspired by recent breakthroughs of foundation models. By exploring this frontier, we will discuss emerging paradigms and pivotal questions shaping the future of AI-powered energy systems. The discussion will spotlight recent research projects and initiatives in areas such as security automation, digital twinning, knowledge integration, and cross-disciplinary education to foster further discussions and collaborations.
