Dedication of the London Section Milestone Plaque Commenmorating the TransCanada Microwave System

IEEE has a (https://ethw.org/Milestones:IEEE_Milestones_Program#IEEE_Milestones) to recognize and commemorate significant technological events in the IEEE fields of interest. IEEE Canada's History Committee has obtained approval for a Milestone for the TransCanada Microwave System (TCMS) which began operation in 1958. It is not difficult to argue that no other single engineering achievement of the past century has had a greater impact on Canada, its society, and its economy, and, indeed, individual Canadians.
Commemorative plaques will be located in most Region 7 sections at facilities associated with the TCMS. While London wasn't on the original route, it was connecting a few years later and a plaque is scheduled to be dedicated at 725 Colborne St (Bell Canada's LONDON Colborne CO) which was the site of the TCMS in London. Thank you to Bell Canada for organizing the event and placing the plaques.
The dedication is 1:00 on Sept 12 and is open to the public. Registration to attend is optional but will help us to plan for the number of attendees. Weather permitting, we willl have cake and coffee for mingling time after the dedication
A short heritage minute video is available at https://www.historicacanada.ca/content/heritage-minutes/le-reseau
The wording of the plaque and a write up from the Spring 2022 IEEE Canadian Review are attached in the Media section below.
