Title: Neural Network Pruning
Abstract:
The remarkable success of convolutional neural networks (CNNs) across a numerous applications comes with a significant increase in computation and parameter storage costs. To address these challenges, recent efforts have been focused on pruning and compressing the weights of various layers while maintaining, or even enhancing, performance. This session will explore CNN pruning techniques by identifying and retaining the most relevant units—be it weights or filters—through the calculation of various saliency scores, including Magnitude, Sync Score, and Taylor Series Score. We will also delve into the Brain Surgeon algorithm for pruning.
Bio Data of Prof.K.Anitha Sheela: Dr. K. Anitha Sheela, Professor & former Head of ECE Department, JNTUH College of Engineering, JNTUH, Hyderabad, has obtained her B. Tech (Electronics and Communication Engineering) from R.E.C Warangal and M .Tech from College of Engineering, Osmania University, and Ph.D. from JNT University.
She has guided 09 Research Scholars, number of M.Tech and B.Tech projects.She published more than 100 articles in Journals and Conferences.
she has published 2 books on Probability and Stochastic Process and few more e-books published by Springer.She has two two Patents in the fields of Battery Management System and Speech enabled Interactive Voice system.
She has carried out research projects funded by ISRO, UGC, Texas Instruments, AICTE, TEQIP in the fields of Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) , Automatic Emotion recognition(Speech & video) etc.,
She received number of awards to her credit such as Best Teacher award from Institute of Engineers India, Telangana State in the Year 2022,etc.,
She is a Reviewer for number of journals such as Elsevier, IEEE Consumer Electronics Journal, Journal of Complex & Intelligent Systems under the Springer etc.,
She is Ph. D adjudicator for various Universities like University of Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram, Osmania University, Central University, Hyderabad, Sri Satya Sai Institute of Higher Learning, Acharya Nagarjuna University, Guntur etc.
