This interactive workshop will be co-led by an IEEE Young Professional and Life Fellow to provide the necessary tools in creating and establishing a successful mentoring relationship.
As part of the mentoring session at the IEEE Life Members Conference, the Mentoring Workshop & Brainstorming Session will immediately follow the Mentoring Panel discussion. The interactive workshop will feature:
- A brief overview of the IEEE Young Professional’s mentoring-meet platform will highlight significant findings provided by mentors and mentees.
- Training resources will be introduced to support comfort and familiarity with the mentoring process.
- IEEE-supported platforms that promote and support mentoring will be presented to facilitate awareness and answer the audience’s question, “How do I become a mentor and/or mentee?”
After the workshop, an IEEE Life Fellow mentor and his dedicated IEEE YP mentee will conduct a mentoring simulation, providing insight into the dynamics of a typical mentor/mentee meeting. Following this simulation, the audience will be encouraged to participate in an interactive brainstorming and Q&A session with Life members, industry leaders, young professionals, and students. An IEEE WIE member will lead this session.
The student registration rate is US$50 for a single day.
