The Benelux LMAG visited the EnergyVille research center in Genk, Belgium, in September 2023. The facility is a top European innovation hub in the energy field, with over 4000 researchers and state-of-the-art facilities. Professor Ronny Belmans, who co-founded the center, arranged the visit. Presentations and lab tours presented novel aspects of batteries, electronics conversion, PV cells and their clean rooms, thermal networks and storage, smart-grid, DC grid to homes, and smart charging infrastructure.

The Benelux LMAG also celebrated the Region 8 Individual Service Award won by their first Chair, Professor Wim van Etten, who achieved three Milestone awards for the Benelux section.
