The IEEE Lone Star LMAG is the most active Chapter in Region 5, having held 38 reported meetings by mid-year. They hold monthly officer planning meetings and joint meetings with local PES, EMB, and Computer Technical Societies.
Meeting on Electrical Safety
16 Life Members from the IEEE Lone Star Life Member Affinity Group (LMAG) met at the La Fonda Mexican Restaurant in San Antonio in July 2024. The current Chair, Warren Conner, gave a presentation on Electrical Safety.
San Antonio Museum of Science and Technology
The Lone Star LMAG has been partnering with the San Antonio Museum of Science and Technology for several years. This August, the most recent LMAG meeting featured Dr. Ernest Franke, the LMAG coordinator of volunteer efforts at SAMSAT. The LMAG has contributed more than 5,000 hours to SAMSAT since 2017. Most recently, they have worked with SAMSAT to prepare space to accommodate the upcoming IEEE History Center Armstrong Radio Exhibit.
