In addition to a talk about brain research, the France IEEE LMAG has hosted talks about emerging tech:

Energy Transition
In November 2025, a seminar was given by Bruno Meyer, Secretary General of GO15, the global association of very large power grid operators, and president of ConsultBKM, who was the IEEE 2022 Vice President for Technical Activities.
The title of his talk was “Climate Change, Energy Transition and Power Systems Flexibility”, and he reviewed the fundamentals of electrical systems, described the changes associated with the energy transition, outlined the main aspects of flexibility, and concluded with some of the challenges ahead.
SLICES
In December 2025, Serge Fdida, a Professor at Sorbonne Université in Paris, gave a lecture to the France LMAG. He has made pioneering contributions to the architecture, design, deployment, and leadership of federated international research testbeds, including PlanetLab Europe, FIT/OneLab, and SLICES-RI (2017–2023). He was the recipient of the Étoiles de l’Europe Award in 2014. Serge Fdida was elected to the French Academy of Technologies in January 2026.

Christian Rumelhard (vice-chair), Bernadette Bouchon-Meunier (past chair), with Serge Fdida (speaker) and Prosper Chemouil (chair)
In his talk entitled “SLICES, Your Scientific Instrument to support Future Networked System Research”, Serge Fdida presented SLICES-RI, an appropriate environment for designing, testing and assessing network foundation models. He described the SLICES instrument, its community, academic engagement, and roadmap, highlighting its openness and its strong potential for collaboration.
