Espionage and cybersecurity are increasingly intertwined.
In many countries the intelligence service and the security service are two separate organizations, such as MI5 and MI6 in Britain. The Netherlands has a combined intelligence and security service, the AIVD. Combining an intelligence and security service – especially in today's time when the world is becoming increasingly smaller due to globalization – makes the mutual lines shorter and leads to integrated and decisive analyses.
