In October 2025, the IEEE Thompson Okanagan Section, located in south-central British Columbia, Canada, hosted the 24-hour IEEE Xtreme 19.0 programming competition. The event highlighted inter-institutional collaboration, with student participation from Okanagan College and Thompson Rivers University.

Carl Zanon, Chair of the Thompson Okanagan Life Member Affinity Group (LMAG), delivered two mentoring sessions during scheduled breaks on Friday and Saturday. Seamless coordination between the Kelowna and Kamloops campus sites was maintained throughout the event. The IEEE Life Member Committee provided financial support.
