DESCRIPTION:A digital master is considered acceptable only when it accurately reflects the characteristics of the original item and complies with established guidelines and standards. Digitization workflow is analyzed with particular emphasis on target measurements. Color calibration targets play an essential role in high-quality digital photography of cultural heritage objects. These targets contain color patches defined and measured in the CIELAB color space and are indispensable for precise camera color calibration as well as automated quality control of digitization output. The National Digital Archives use various types and sizes of color calibration targets. DESCRIPTION:Abstract:\nHow Identity\, Enterprise Context\, Observability\, and Bounded Authority Shape Live Risk Decisions\nAn aircraft may begin its journey with a verified pilot\, an approved flight plan\, and permission to take off. But that approval does not guarantee that the original route will remain safe for the entire flight. Weather\, traffic\, fuel\, airport availability\, and other conditions can change. Air traffic control uses live signals to decide whether the aircraft should continue\, slow down\, hold\, change its route\, divert\, or land.\nAI agents face a similar challenge. An agent may authenticate\, receive permissions\, access approved tools\, and begin a task correctly. But as it works\, its behavior\, enterprise context\, risk\, cost\, data sensitivity\, and operating conditions can change. A permission that was appropriate at the start of the session may not be enough to safely approve every action that follows.\nThis talk explains how organizations can build a runtime posture for AI agents. Runtime posture brings together signals such as agent identity\, the user it represents\, session state\, business purpose\, enterprise context\, tool usage\, data sensitivity\, behavior\, approvals\, risk\, and cost.\nObservability provides live information about what the agent is doing. Enterprise context explains the business meaning\, relationships\, ownership\, dependencies\, policies\, and current conditions around an action. Bounded authority defines the limits within which the agent may operate\, including its allowed tools\, data\, purpose\, time\, risk\, and cost.\nUsing a practical enterprise scenario and the air traffic control analogy\, the session will show how these signals can be evaluated at important decision points. In this talk I will focus on Elsevier as prominent and highly complex example for the increasing corporate control and shaping of academic knowledge production.\nThe analysis will construct a strategic trajectory of Elsevier’s waves of digital transformations as evolutionary technography. The results will be discussed using the lens of techno-colonization\, an interpretative pattern to illustrate how publishers redesigned the scholarly communication ecosystem driven by an ideology of datafication and high performance institutions in a competitive environment. They not only took ownership and control over journals\, rankings\, and research infrastructures\, but extended these into tools and professional services for university administrations\, governments and industry.\nThe broad consensus that academic publishers’ techno-colonization is dangerous and inacceptable poses the riddle why the academic community so far has shown little resistance\, instead engaged in Faustian bargains\, collaboration and “voluntary servitude” (La Boétie).\nShort Bio of Stefan Klein:\nStefan Klein is Professor emeritus for Interorganizational Systems in the Department of Information Systems at the School of Business and Economics\, University of Münster\, Germany. He has an interest in new ways of working and collaborative modes of organizing.\nHis methodological orientation is in line with phronetic social science\, which also motivates critical studies in digital inversions: how innovators have turned into oligarchs\, disruptors into monopolistic incumbents\, how technology has morphed from a force of good into a force of evil\, and how meaningful communication has deteriorated into bullshitting.\nHe is a co-founder of NITIM.org the International Graduate Research School on Networks\, Information Technology and Innovation Management\, an ongoing collaborative experiment in international and interdisciplinary PhD coaching.\nShort Bio of Anna Bon:\nAnna Bon is researcher and lecturer in Information and Communication Technologies for Development (ICT4D) at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and Maastricht University\, and senior project manager at VU Amsterdam’s International Office (CIS Centre for International Cooperation). She directs the interdisciplinary research\, education and community service program W4RA (Web alliance for Regreening in Africa). Her interdisciplinary research centers around how innovative context-aware technologies can be developed in a co-creative way to support local value chains and improve food security\, serving especially smallholder farmers and communities in Africa’s drylands. Her international projects include digital voice-service support for local cereal seeds value networks in West Africa (Mali); ICT4D Community Service Learning in rural Sarawak\, Malaysia; Sustainability and Ethics in Digital Development; AI for Sustainable Development\, and the Amsterdam Digital Divide.
