Abstract:
The No. 1 code electrical engineers must understand is [](http://www.nfpa.org/70) (NEC). In this session, engineers will learn about key changes from the 2023 edition of the NEC that were made to develop the 2026 edition.
This education session will cover changes to the design of electrical systems within commercial and industrial power systems. These changes are statutory as the individual states adopt the newer version into law.
For example, there are changes in load calculations for how energy management systems can be implemented that can have an impact on design and installation activities. Major changes in medium-voltage equipment, microgrid control and motor designs will be presented to control, construct and design safe installations.
Attendees qualify for 0.1 continuing educational units (CEU) after successful completion of an open book quiz with min. 70% success
Learning Objectives:
Learn how to understand the structure of NFPA 70: National Electrical Code (NEC).
Review the core changes to Article 130 and how it affects the design of microgrid controls?
Determine how to comply with key aspects of the 2026 NEC.
Know how to understand the new design BE and CE motors
