This presentation will explore how artificial intelligence is transforming research in biomechatronics. Through practical examples, it will highlight how AI enhances the quality and effectiveness of prostheses, orthoses, and wearable devices designed to improve patient outcomes.
Dr. Erkan Kaplanoglu is a Professor and department head in the Engineering Management & Technology Department, Mechatronics, and Director of the Biomechatronics & Assistive Technology Lab (BioAstLab) at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC).
His teaching and research areas include robotics, biomechatronics, and automation. In addition to his academic experience, he has 20 years of workforce development experience in the industry.
He is a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the European Embedded Control Institute (EECI).
