Dr. Harpreet Singh, chair of the Southeastern Michigan Section’s LMAG, was presented the Region 4 Life Members Individual Service Award by Jim Riess, IEEE Life Member Committee Regional Coordinator for Region 4. The presentation was made at the 2025 HKN Student Leadership Conference at the Michigan Union in Ann Arbor, Michigan, in November 2025.
Dr. Singh was given this award for his commitment to forming Life Members Affinity Group activities and his dedication to keeping IEEE Members of the Section participating in events of interest to Life Members. Dr. Singh has been arranging several conferences and meetings since he started this group. In particular, he contributed significantly towards arranging several humanitarian events in Southeastern Michigan.
Both Harpreet and Jim were attending the conference, held in Southeastern Michigan in Region 4, to meet and interact with nearly 400 students. The IEEE Life Members Committee (LMC) was a Gold sponsor of the Conference.
